About the Book
This is a photographic journal of our holiday to the great city in February 2009.
Our hotel was right in the heart of Manhattan in the shadow of the soaring Empire State Building and situated just off Broadway within ten minutes walk of the vibrant Times Square. It was the perfect location!
In an effort to take in as much as possible, we bought a weekly subway ticket and travelled from one end of Manhattan to the other. From the affluent Central Park area, home to numerous celebrities such as John Lennon and Woody Allan, to the gritty Eastside and the infamous Bowery district, birthplace of the New York Punk scene.
We journeyed from China Town to Ground Zero and all the way across the East River via the Brooklyn Bridge to Coney Island.
The pictures in this book are a record of our wonderful memories in the Big Apple. It was without doubt a fantastic experience and a truly unforgettable holiday.
