"Where I’m From" represents the lifetime experiences of members of the Windrush generation: those West Indians who emigrated from their homelands to a promised “new life” in England during the 1950s and 1960s. More than simply a collection of reminiscences, "Where I’m From" examines issues regarding identity, belonging, prejudice and acceptance that remain highly relevant to contemporary society.
