Splendid Paris, dour Warsaw, in-your-face Russia, ruthless Mongolian traders, a nomad camp, frantic Shanghai. This is a collection of pictures taken on a nine-city, ten-train, 13,000km trip from London to Shanghai in the summer of 2009, the rump of which was a journey on a branch of the trans-Siberian railway between Moscow and Beijing.

A pilgrimage in pictures that transports subtly the reader to the contrast between two worlds: from London to China, from the Western to the Eastern. The distance which separates them , is not only big in kilometres . Their ideologies, flavours, icons, contradictions, heroes, habits, death and art, are wonderfully captured in this collection of black and white pictures. The train journey of 12,831km made by the author and his camera . This books is highly recommended to lovers of photography, lovers of journeys and lovers of art.
