This book is a snapshot from Window on the World® Photo Library, a collection of my photographs built up over the last 30 years. For me there is virtually nothing that is not worth photographing from fish markets, graveyards, sunsets, landscapes, seascapes, customs costumes, architecture to just that which can be labeled serendipity.
The layout has loose themes or comparisons to give a moderate structure to the book but it is intended as an invitation to share in some of the places I have been with my camera.
Most of the images in the book were shot on medium format cameras with transparency film to obtain the highest quality resolution for printing. I now use digital cameras as the resolution has reached the point where they provide a suitable alternative to film.
Window on the World is a photography company representing the work of David Usill. He provides location photography around the world. The images in the Photo Library have been shot on medium format transparencies or, since 2009, on medium format 50Mp digital cameras. The company also produces fine art photographic prints and limited editions.
