About the Book
the conversion and extension of the presentation convent (a protected structure designed by A.W.N. Pugin) for change of use to a health centre for the Rowe-Creavin practice, including the addition of two new 2 storey structures to each side of the old st. mary’s school wing, housing pharmacy, GP, wellness suite and others. the new blocks are separated visually from the old by using the stairwells to break down their mass, allowing their interior form to emerge in glass so that the old re-emerges through transparency. the stone cladding to the outside of the new wings is merely the transformation through bisection of the stone from the old gable.
