Inspired by the beauty of the Adriatic coastline of her native Croatia, Tatjana began painting at a young age. After moving to the United States, she had her first solo exhibition in 1989. Surreal and inventive, her work combines the optimism of America with the more reflective pace of Europe. Not burdened by the need for painterly formalism, her consistent theme is the expression of joy, which infuses her unforgettable figures and landscapes.
In this collection for the 2010 desk calendar Tatjana pays homage to the sparkling moments that inspire her paintings: serene landscapes of her native Croatia, spirited scenes of human enjoyment and rich offerings of nature's bounty. She sees this book as a dance of color and emotion and hopes you will enjoy these windows on love, hope, appreciation and the fire of the human spirit throughout the year. www.tatjanakrizmanic.com
