This 320 page picture book is based on the photo albums of Reverend Henry F. and Ruth B. Ressmeyer of Long Island, NY. It details their 65-year marriage, from their first encounters in 1943 until their death and burial in July and October, 2008. It also portrays the life of a Lutheran minister's family, always on display to the large, Long Island congregation.
The book heavily features the Ressmeyers' four children, Christa Klein (CEO of InTrust), Georgia Ressmeyer (retired public defender), Victoria Sirota (Canon Priest at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York) and Roger Ressmeyer (photographer for Time/Life and National Geographic, and now Executive Director and Producer at the Visions of Tomorrow Foundation).
Roger Ressmeyer is CEO & Founder of Science Faction Images, a leading stock photo agency. An industry veteran, Ressmeyer has held senior management positions at both Getty Images and Corbis, Bill Gates' privately-owned image archive. As Getty's VP of Strategy & Corporate Development, he put together their Image Partner program and created the Photographer's Choice brand. Prior to these jobs, Ressmeyer was a National Geographic and Time/Life assignment photographer specializing in space, high tech, medicine and the physical sciences. Earlier on, he photographed hundreds of rock stars, writers, politicians and business leaders for book jackets, record albums and dozens of major publications including Smithsonian, Geo, Stern, Paris Match, Newsweek, People and Rolling Stone. He owned and operated the Starlight Photo Agency for 14 years until July 1995, when it became Corbis' first major acquisition. Ressmeyer is a graduate of Yale.
