So Here We Are
I have always been interested in exploring the themes of place, identity, absence and memories through my use of the camera and over the last year, I have based my ‘lens based practice’ around my home and family life.
During this process, I have used photography as a means to try and understand what it is that makes us who we are; the complexities that are involved in human relationships; and to use the power of the image to say things where words sometimes fail.
Having spent the majority of my childhood away from my family and home place, I have attempted to use the lens as a means of rediscovering aspects of my childhood and to re-establish a connection with my current surroundings.
