About the Book
Holly and Smith Architects’ new book entitled, “H/S: A Culture of Design”, focuses on the firm’s long standing commitment to a firm culture which is grounded by a regional understanding of architecture and design. The images within this small assemblage are manifestations of things we have seen and liked. Rather than attempting to document a comprehensive range of work, the book focuses on highlighting a devotion to design that occurs at all levels, especially the smallest of details.
It’s all about design!
The architecture H/S has created is made up of many small pieces, not unlike the many cells of a living organism or blades of grass in an open field.
Talk is not cheap at Holly & Smith. That’s because we define talk as open dialogue with our clients, and we believe this is an invaluable first step in forming working relationships that produce meaningful, functional, beautiful buildings. Founded in 1980, we are a full service professional architecture corporation based in Hammond, La. We have extensive experience serving commercial clients and academic, governmental and religious institutions across our region, while also completing select residential projects. We are specialists in historic renovation and adaptive reuse, master planning and interiors as well. Our work ranges from iconic landmark structures to buildings that blend seamlessly with their neighborhoods. They are all united by finely crafted design that fulfills our client’s needs; follow-through and attention to detail that surpasses expectation; and an approach and attitude at our firm that makes so many of our clients repeat customers.
