I shift my attention into neutral and behold photographically a slice of the ethereal. I am struck by the splendid reflections that surface time and again, sublime glimpses of existence I learn to acknowledge and accept.
The camera affords me an opportunity, a state-of-mind, to bear witness. With these results another voyage of dicovery is launched when I transpose these "sketches" to print - a joy when I recognise and substantiate a feeling's image, a disappointment when made to realise, I've misread matters. Awe is my constant companion.
I was raised in the Missisippi Delta. A move from New Orleans to Seattle became my bridge to Europe. I built my first darkroom at age thirteen.
At the university I studied art history with studio work in sculpture, printmaking (stone lithography, etching and silkscreen), and painting. A camera was always a vital tool.
I have always had a soft spot for journalistic photo reportage for newspapers and magazines. Upon starting a family I settled down with my own photography and graphics design studio.
My work has been exhibited in the U.S. and Europe.
I presently live with my family in Zurich, Switzerland.
