Maddy is 7 years old. Because mommy and daddy recently split up, Maddy lives with Grandma most of the time but still sees both her parents.
In this blog-style book, the first of a series, as Maddy tells us about her family, she reveals her sweet, rambunctious, sometimes feisty personality. She's often amused and confused by the adults in her life as she "tells it like it is" and the listener is amused by her take on her little world.
This little book is child-sized with a mix of charcoal and line drawings for children to color. We hope you love it and tell your friends, schools and libraries about it. Like we said, this is just the first of several books planned. We welcome your comments.
Reading level Grade 3 - 4. Great idea for classroom project i.e. write your own blog. Younger children will enjoy having a parent or grandparent read this one to them.
Artwork in this book has been rendered into charcoal & scribble drawings for children to color by using software from http://www.befunky.com
NOTE: This is a revised version of the first book. Below are the comments left by readers on the original book:

This is the most original and the most enjoyable children's book I've had the pleasure to read in years! The format of the book is a Blog, written by 6 year old Sammy. For everone else who has had their share of "cutesy" books of talking creatures, this is a treasure. Through it's pages we come to know Sammy, as she wrties her blogs. Sammy will capture your heart with her candid view of life! A wonderful book that would make a great gift for any 2nd or 3rd graders on your list. Loved it!

In my life I've worn many hats! High school English teacher; co-owner wedding photography studio; educational consultant for Lego Dacta, Australia; regional manager for Learner's World, Australia; management and sales trainer for Manulife Australia; real estate agent; published freelance writer; songwriter; publicist/promoter for musician/singer .. the list is endless. I'm currently retired but still run an online vintage jewelry business, while pursuing my lifelong goal of writing. That goal was partially realized in the books I write for my grand-daughter using Blurb. I am now on the verge of writing, editing and publishing the most important book in my writing career: NO TEARS FOR MY FATHER. This book of non-fiction is my true story about incest and child sexual abuse. Watch for it. Hopefully, it will be available in both eBook and paperback form by the end of summer, 2013. Thanks for stopping by.
