This photographic series is my attempt to draw out the beauty and passion from everyday objects that come alive during my controlled lighting at night.
By carefully composing and lighting these real-life objects, and with the help of volunteer photographic assistants, I’m striving to interpret them as metaphors for values of character, honor, integrity and pride, exemplified by the people who work with this equipment on a regular basis.
Through my photographs I strive to share with the viewer the passions enjoyed by our fellow countrymen. Whether laborer, professional, volunteer, corporate CEO or just a guy who owns a cool, old pickup truck, we all share this American experience together.

El Segundo California USA
Eric Curry was born in Los Angeles, vintage 1956. Raised on sugary breakfast cereals, and Saturday morning cartoons, with healthy doses of “Gilligan’s Island” re-runs thrown in for good measure. Graduating the public schools system with a solid “C” grade point average, he was clearly destined for greatness, or at least a career in the visual arts.
Continuing on, and completing the curriculum from Art Center College of design in 1980 with a BA in photography, Eric was originally trained and specialized in studio still life / special effects. Eventually Eric made the transition over to location industrial photography, because if affords, as he comments, “A much broader pallet of avenues for creativity.”
Coming full circle, it seems appropriate that Eric is now the one making his own visual statement of who and where we are as a nation. Not at all art for the masses, but as he refers to it, “Hyper-photographic industrial art that everybody can enjoy looking at”.

It is totally depressing that after 3 years of work to highlight Americans, I still only get computers trying to sell me stuff on my comments page.

Wow what beautiful photography! You show what being a creative photographer really entails, being an artist and using the camera as a tool. Not just being in the right place at the right time, not just relying on the subject matter to give you an interesting photo, not just relying on sensual pleasures and forbidden pleasures, but honest creative work. I have been a commercial photographer for over forty years and I COMMEND YOU. photobo@bojarski.org
