A traditional wedding ceremony at a small village in the south east corner of Mali.

19 women were married off in one day. It is a tradition that takes place once a year.

Girls are married into a family in another village. The head of the new household will decide who will be her husband.

Only one week after the ceremony will the brides meet their husbands.
