STINK was written by Mark Durfee who is a life long resident of Detroit. He is a witness to the fall from the industrial capitol of America to it's complete fall.
This book is not a pretty picture, in fact it is a brutally honest view he has taken in his writing. Yet at the same time in the midst of the abandonment he has communicated that there is hope alive in the residents. He looks to the past glory, the present callousness, and the future that is possible in this collection.
Durfee has been published in various literary journals and has been at the craft of poetry for over forty years.
Durfee was a long time blue collar worker who has been writing poetry for over 40 years. In retirement he has taken to occupying himself with his craft. Published in the White Pelican Journal, Troubadour 21, GlassFire Magazine, and other journals. Island Grove Press of New Market Ontario is the publisher of Record of Stink. Currently he is involved with Detroit Public Schools tutoring in literacy Pre K-3rd grade students. Feel free to stop by and comment at his WALKING MAN BLOG above to see his most recent writing.
