For the past two years I have had the honor of attending the Moku O Keawe Hula Festival at the Waikoloa Hilton on The Big Island of Hawai'i,
thanks to my friend Desiree Manoa Cruz, who is the MC.

With a press pass around my neck, I found myself surrounded by Japanese, Tahitian, and Hawaiian hula dancers, and important people in the world of hula. I look around to find that not I am the only
white person in the room, but also the only male in the room.

It is a true cultural experience, and through these photographs of the first two years of this event, the Moku O Keawe Hula Festival, I share these special moments of being there with you.

Enjoy.
