'The Year of the Ronin’ follows an Australian photojournalist who is eventually assigned to work in Japan. The bulk of the narrative chronicles a single day in his wanderings of the streets of Tokyo as he visits various temples, shrines, and festivals throughout the 30 million-strong metropolis, before making a long-overdue visit to his home town on the Victorian coast.
