About the Book
Gail Dowle first became interested in photography at school. At ease in the darkroom, with her safe light and chemicals, she has lately ...not without misgivings... joined the digital age. At heart she is a partisan of black and white. "Painting With Light" presents a selection of her photographs in both black-and-white and colour, with some examples of one of her favourite mediums, hand-coloured black-and-white prints.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Gail now lives in England. The pictures in the book are drawn from both phases of her life. Many of her photographic obsessions are represented, including architectural and automotive detail, landscape, foliage, flowers, textures and dereliction.
