The major part of this book contains portraits prepared for an exhibition under the same title. They are concerned with the way in which the camera looks at a suject and the subject looks back, trusting or not, submissive or agressive. Once printed that relationship moves to the viewer who sees the subjects in a different way, setting up a new relationship and revealing new aspects of character.
