Mother's Story is a true account of a remarkable woman's journey through life. This woman is my mother, born Annunziata Ludovico, in Gioia del Colle, Italy, but known by most people as Nancy Smith from Portsville, Delaware.
Her story is full of adversity, from her birth in 1917 to her life as an immigrant in New York, and then as a wife and mother in Delaware. Her faith, strength, and compassion helped her to find peace and hope in life, even after the tragic event in 1958.
I wrote this book for my grandchildren because I want them to know their beautiful, wise great-grandmother.

Dear Starr and Nancy,
I just read the opening of your book. It sounds wonderful and I can't wait to get my copy to share with my children who remember Nancy Smith as Grandma Nancy. We all love her dearly and I have been blessed to sew with her. I am amazed at her many creations. Nancy is truly a one of a kind woman. I have said to many of my friends in New Hampshire that my friend Nancy is a woman that would be completely comfortable dining with the President or pulling up a chair next to someone in a soup kitchen. Congratulations on this book.
