Crufts is the largest dog show in the world and through his photographs of keenly observed moments, Philip Joyce presents a hugely enjoyable impression of this imposing event. Philip has been attending Crufts since 2002 and his affinity with his subject is evident as he balances the gentle humour and seriousness of the dog show to present a truly affectionate collection of images.
In his foreword Peter Purves says "I love this book – packed full of some of the nicest and typical photographs of dogs I have ever had the pleasure of looking at. This is one of those collections that will have you dipping into it for another look, over and over again".

I always find Philip Joyce's photography fascinating. I know nothing about the technical aspects - to this layperson the photographs seem perfect in that sense. What I do know is that his images are intriguing - quirky, thoughtful, funny, poignant and never never snide or sarcastic. And as a dog lover from the other side of the world (Australia) I'm loving the opportunity to "be" at Crufts finally - and such a privileged view of Crufts! The people, the dogs, the setting - what a treat!
