This book is a collaboration between JEAN LANNEN (photographer/artist) and CATHY STOIA (creative visionary). Cathy commissioned Jean to photograph a Tefillin ceremony and to create a photography book showcasing the images. This book captures Mendel Mintz's journey into becoming a jewish man, and serves as a personal "unique, one of a kind" gift for his family. This is Jean Lannen's first Blurb Book, with many more to come!

Jean Lannen studied at The Center For Creative Studies and received her BFA in photography. She has been shooting for commercial and artistic clients for over 20 years. She specializes in People Portraiture, Conceptual Images and Fine Art. Her style is a mix of "observation and documentation, direction and creation".
Her commercial photographs are featured on (9) Todd Rundgren Albums, and other clients include: GMC, Johnson & Johnson, The Ronald McDonald Corp, Warner Bros., and The YWCA.
Jean's fine art photography has been showing in various galleries for the last 20 years. Her latest body of work is entitled "Altered Photographs". These original one-of-a-kind pieces combine her photographs with mixed media.
Jean currently lives near the ocean, in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco, CA.

Hi Jean! I love this book! I have no idea how you were allowed to get both a camera, and yourself, in to document this ceremony, but it's so sweet. I have incredible images of my father putting on Tefellin at my dining room table when I was a very little child. Thanks for making want to search for them in some boxes!
