In this groundbreaking book Julie Bernson, Director of Education at the Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Andover, deftly weaves together her ideas about art and pedagogy in the context of a teaching art museum. She illuminates the ways in which project-based education can not only enlighten but empower audiences, particularly young people. This book is destined to become a "must have" for anyone interested in seriously examining how one forward thinking museum educator has developed a unique and dynamic approach to museum education, both in and out of the institutional space.
