About the Book
My pastels are vividly colored and freely drawn landscapes. They include images from near my home, other parts of the United States and from France.
Each image has notes about the scenes from which the pastels were drawn and about how the pastels were made. Comments include how the colors were selected for many images.
This book collects images of all of my pastels that I photographs of from 2005 through 2008. They are organized more or less chronologically, beginning with my first tentative efforts in this medium through the more mature works in the latter pages of this book.
Since this is a small book, I recommend the premium paper, which is thicker and has a more substantial feel. The regular paper still reproduces the images just fine if you want to save the $3.00.

I received my Batchelor of Fine Arts Degree from Albion College in 1977. I've always been a painter, working in oil, pastel and encaustic. In the last few years photography has become my art of choice. I've been a self-employed entrepreneur since the age of 24. I was a cabinetmaker for 13 years before transitioning into computer animation. I've done that for almost 15 years but have been transitioning out of that and trying to make a career as an artist. Finally, after all these years! I've created many things besides paintings and photographs. I've built a classical guitar, three electric guitars, a wooden kayak and countless radio controlled gliders including a fully molded fiberglass glider with a 15' wingspan.
