In Their Footsteps
A Guide to Beautiful and Interesting Places of the Civil War
by Shawn M. Bentz and Donna A. Bentz
This book is the follow up to the original "In Their Footsteps." More pics and more information. With a recent trip, I found some more obscure locations to add to the book. In addition, I now have the GPS coordinates for the Perryville, KY battlefield. Hopefully this will become a good "backpack book," or something to put on the table that gets people's attention. Either way, if you are a Civil War buff, this will be an enjoyable visit through pictures.
Shawn Bentz is a musician and Civil War living historian. His academic degrees include a B.M.E. from Indiana University and M.M. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Shawn is currently an active composer, arranger, and performer as well as a living historian with the11th Indiana Infantry, Co. D. It was the combination of his musical skills and interest in the Civil War that drew him into reenacting. As a bugler, Shawn was welcomed into the Civil War community. Currently, Shawn resides in rural Indiana with his wife, young son, and a menagerie of dogs and a cat. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing by doing various types of woodwork.
