A long time ago I fell in love with Tulum. Over the years, this Mayan town on the Mexican Caribbean coast revealed to me a wondrous multitude of sights and sounds. Yet, when I followed an old dream of a new life by the sea, what moved me most was the drama of Tulum sunsets. Unpredictable in color and texture, always inspiring and endlessly captivating, every evening the sky offered me its gifts. And as this city dweller surrendered to the silence of commercial-free life, with only the sea slowly breathing at my side - I accepted and recorded, hoping to return the favor someday, by sharing what the sky had shared with me.
Anyone who has visited Tulum, Mexico, is familiar with the magic displays of the sky in this beautiful part of the world. In fact, before moving to Mexico, back when I was a visitor myself, it's what I used to miss about Tulum the most – daily sunset entertainment offerings. This is the reason why I decided to create a book out of my photo collection – to make a keepsake of earth and sky for everyone who loves Tulum, majestic beauty of nature and landscape photography. This compilation includes my favorite shots from the Sunset series of photographs I took in 2009-10. The book comes in two different sizes - 8"x10" and 11"x13".
As places of natural beauty are disappearing from our planet with increasing speed, I hope my photographs can serve as a reminder of those rare locations in the world which are still intact, ones we can still preserve and use as an example of future possibilities. I hope you enjoy the collection and use the book to help spread the word about conservation of Tulum's ecological ideals.

As an artist with a background in graphic design, I work with a variety of media. My latest projects have to do with careful observations of patterns in space and time, and capturing their implicit significance using photography, drawing and writing. Through my work I explore such ideas as 'relativity' and 'relatedness' between individual and environment, and specifically how they contribute to the formation of 'identity.' My particular interest in concept of ‘time’ began when I was five.

I was born in Minsk, Belarus, and was educated in the former Soviet Union and United States. University years at UW-Madison and Columbia College were followed by a decade-long graphic design career in Chicago. Next, modest exploration of acting and self-revealing creative writing courses at University of Chicago led to a graduation from commercial life and a subsequent move to Mexico.
