About the Book
After a year of working with the Adults at The Walton Lea Project, http://www.waltonlea.org.uk, a charity which provides supported employment for people with Learning Disabilities in the North-West, the time has finally come to hold an exhibition of the work that has been created.
The "We are More Project- Photo Diary Exhibition" Sunday, 18th April from 2pm - 4pm in The Garden Room, at The Walton Lea Project.
There will be an exhibition of photographs taken by Walton Lea and Long Lane, (as featured on Channel 4's Secret Millionaire) workers. Artists who participated in creating their own Photo Diaries. A visual record. A way of showing the world who they are. Each persons personality really had a chance to shine through.
The 'We are More Project" uses cameras and photography as an alternative form of expression and communication. Aiming to overcome boundaries that people with Learning Disabilities may sometimes experience when trying to communicate their thoughts and feelings through spoken or written word. It is to show the world that having a disability does not hinder creativity.
Everyone is an artist in their own right.
