The weather was unseasonable cold for early October. It ranged from -16 to +37 degrees and snow fell on most days. The week prior there was a large forest fire in the West Thumb area and the smoke still lingered in many areas of the park. The snow and ice caused many of the roads to be closed, and the road from Madison to Norris was closed due to construction. We travel every road we could, hiked many of the trails, and returned to interesting areas several times. We shot almost 3000 pictures and took 12 videos. This book is a small sampling of the scenery and wildlife that we were fortunate to see. There are about 105 photos that we selected for this book.

Wonderful update for me, take a look at our visit in 2008 as part of a 4,071 mile auto-tour via book No. 710411. Even a picture from 1988 taken day of the fire start, and then 20-years later.
