About the Book
From the age of two until I was eight, my family lived in a small Sweets and Tobacconists shop in Hollinwood. The shop was on the busy Manchester to Oldham road. In the early 1950's our society was on the brink of enormous change. Television was just in its infancy, supermarkets hadn't even been invented and travel for most people meant a coach trip to the coast once a year.
This is a very personal account about this period, but I hope you will find it interesting and enjoyable to take a peek into this very happy and influential time in my life.
