A commemorative collection of twenty-five one of a kind images, this book presents an inside out look at the planning and staging, relationships and experiences of the Big Shot project, from its beginnings in 1987 to the present day. Never before seen photographs accompany essays by organizing photographers, Michael Peres, William DuBois and Dawn Tower DuBois, along with other
notable participants.

The Big Shot project illustrates the dramatic power of “painting with light” on historical and contemporary architectural structures and their surrounding landscapes. As this publication demonstrates, it also celebrates the contributions of students and public volunteers in an innovative community-based photographic endeavor.

Proceeds from the sales of this book help subsidize the Big Shot project and its related activities.

This book and accompanying dust jacket were designed by Rachael Gootnick with support from the Open Publishing Lab at RIT. © 2010

Received the book from my Dad for Christmas. Great gift! Have participated in several of the 'shots'. Was able to get all 3 authors to sign the book last night at the most recent Big Shot at the Strong Museum.
