About the Book
This book is a collection of photos documenting some of the paper forms I have been making since the late nineties. I have been making origami since I was 8 years old, following instructions in books from the library, always hungry for more and more complex designs to make the paper models from. When I started experimenting with the crushing and more chaotic style of folding, I was inspired by the sheer beauty and complexity of forms not attainable by classical methods. I still do traditional origami, and love the symmetry and neatness of the folding in that style, but, in my opinion, that area is covered many times over by the new interest in origami, youth the world over are discovering it, and science and society are also gaining new appreciation for the ancient artform, for it's beauty and it's utility. I lackadaisically experiment, meandering through my own odd impulses, playing with this different technique, always hoping to manifest the secret 3-dimensional desire of paper.
