About the Book
SalaamGarage Presents India - As Witnessed by Ten Citizen Journalists
In September 2009, eight citizen journalists accompanied SalaamGarage team leaders Amanda Koster and Maggie Soladay to Rajasthan, India, to document the work of the Vatsalya organization—an NGO (nongovernmental organization) that assists underprivileged children, provides health services for adults, and works to empower women in the region. Most of the team had never been to India before, and several of them continued to explore the subcontinent on their own after the work with Vatsalya was over. This book contains photographs from their time with the NGO, as well as from their own travels. Visit Vatsalya’s website at vatsalya.org.
