An International Military Parachute Competition
by Paul M. Murray and Emily A. Rutherford
Leapfest 27: An International Parachute Competition captures the action of the largest continuously conducted parachute competition in the world. In 2009, over 325 paratroopers representing nine countries participated in this day-long event which takes place in early August in southern Rhode Island.
In action-oriented full-color photos and informative text, the 48-page book highlights all the significant aspects of the competition in a way that few see them. The book is available in softcover and hardcover versions.
Rhode Island-based photographers Paul M. Murray and Emily A. Rutherford authored the book with the review support of Beth Ann Murray.
Its companion book, Rhode Island National Guard Air Show: 2009 Selected Highlights is separately available in softcover and hardcover versions.
A Rhode Island native, Paul has been a photographer, pilot and frequent traveler for decades. As a result of his corporate career in computing and networking, he appreciates the impact that hi-tech developments have had on photography, aviation and travel. Luckily, his career has afforded him many opportunities to travel, live and work in North America, Europe, Australasia and Asia. His photography often reflects his early journalistic background with a twist that many find intriguing. He uses technology to increase his options and productivity but not to replace his creativity and vision.
