About the Book
This book contains black and white photographs of five nature preserves in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Va. The photographs are meant to be visually complex and tangled, as a mirror of the tangled nature in the area. Just so you don't think I was trying to be all clarity and light, and merely failing.
Richard Nilsen was art critic for The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Ariz., for 25 years.
