This psalm setting in B flat major is one of a series of psalm setting plus Te Deum Laudamus, Magnificat and Nunc dimittis as in the same key, and which as a set all start and conclude identically. Each is scored for SSATTB with organ accompaniment, there is a skeleton piano part for rehearsals, and the work is orchestrated.

Psalm 95 occurs before Te Deum Laudamus on all days except Easter Sunday in the calendar of the Anglican communion, and so this psalm is very well known. The highest note for sopranos is G and the lowest note for basses is F so the work is accessible for the average choir.
