About the Book
My photographs expose the complicated layers of modern life and explore a range of themes and ideas. They offer insight on the spaces we inhabit and juxtapose the masks we hold up alongside a more brutal reality. And because reflections show us glimpses of the modern in their place next to the old and historic, these images place us in time so that a picture of where we come from emerges.
These images will also help you gauge our cultural and consumerist aspirations and gain an understanding of the way we are attracted to look at things and the value that we place on desirable objects.

About the Creator
A journalist turned artist photographer, I was born in Hong Kong, schooled in Hong Kong and Scotland, and now live in Hereford, England. The journalistic, documentary ethos thrives in my artistic aims. My reflection images are 'one shot' digital photographs which aim to show the many layers of life reflected back to us unsuspectingly every day. However, in another on-going diary project, I do layer images to create a photographic collage that describes best the day past. I believe strongly that photographs are not just decorations but can communicate in a powerfully immediate way. Newspaper images are the best example of that because they tell a story which is then supported by words but they are what grabs the readers' attention and can make or break a publication. As a former wordsmith, I love the challenge of making images that stand alone and say something about the way we live, our aspirations, pretensions, vanities, taste and lifestyle.
