In the summer of 2008, ten students from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville left the US to study theatre in London, England - under the guidance of Dr. Johanna Schmitz, PhD.
We left thinking we were going to study theatre. . .
. . . instead, we learned how to see.
Made You Look chronicles our journey, highlighting performances we had the privilege to observe, as well as what we learned along the way and the impact the experience had on our respective lives.
This book additionally serves as the corporeal embodiment of the author's senior theatre project for SIUE. In April 2010, it was featured at the SIUE Senior Capstone Showcase - an honor bestowed on selected seniors from the College of Arts and Sciences.

- Laurel A. Williams
Laurel hails from a small IL town that is (yes, quite literally) referred to as a village. As of June 2010, Laurel will have earned two degrees in English (BA) and Theater History/Literature/Criticism (BS) from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She plans to eventually earn her MA and a PhD in English. Laurel began using Blurb.com after being referred to it by her Theater adviser and mentor, Dr. Johanna Schmitz (PhD). Through using BookSmart®, Laurel created and completed her senior project: Made You Look: The 2008 London Theatre Experience. As of late, Laurel has been busily getting things in order to apply for jobs, preferrably in the fields of theater, writing, and/or publishing. Thanks for stopping by!
