About the Book
I have been on road late in the evening just to capture the marks of our presence on the earth in a photo-essay. I have been enjoying the peace and quietness of these late evening moments. By photographing one subject several times from different angles and with long shutter times, you really bound with the subject. It really feels like if you know the subject. On the photographs are intentionally no people because I wanted to show the influence of people, not the people themselves.

I studied “professional photography” in Amsterdam with specialization “advertisement photography and documentary photography”. For my non-commissioned work a love to photograph late in the evening or in the night. In this period it is reasonable quiet and you have a lot of artificial light sources which creates and adds a beautiful light/dark contrast. When using long shutter times and the right aperture you really get an unique atmosphere. In this case you really have the feeling you are “painting with light” For commissioned work such as documentary; advertisement; and portrait photography, I prefer to work in a plain and modest style if possible.
