“If our purpose is to leave a mark and make a difference, who’s to say it can’t be done like this?
God gave His only Son
Socrates drank the hemlock
Michael Sage performed beautiful suicide as his speech for student body president.”

With those words, Sage commences a three week manifesto on alienation, and unchecked cultural submission. However, as his dialectic progresses, reason gives way to emotion when he begins reflecting on his first (and only) intimate relationship with a decaying soul named Ashlie McNeil.

With his scheduled death drawing nearer, Michael grows fearful that the path he has embarked on may be flawed.

Religion, nature/nurture, self-harm, and more are discussed in this engaging and unfiltered account of self destruction and searching. The Revenant: A Suicide Journal flows freely between the darkest of humor, childlike simplicity, and aged cynicism, but always maintains its brutal honesty.
