I took the pictures of this book when I went to do some volunteer work in Kolkota, Varanasi-Bénarès and Bodhgaya. I made contact with the children of these different cities, especially in Varanasi and Bodhgaya. You will see the beautiful sacred Ganges, the saddhus (holy men), the cremation ceremony, the people in their daily lives. The short texts are in English and French.

J'ai pris les photos présentées dans ce livre lors d'un voyage à Kolkota, Varanasi-Bénarès et Bodhgaya, en Inde, alors que j'y faisais du bénévolat pendant 3 mois en 2009. J'ai surtout rencontré les enfants de Varanasi et Bodhgaya. Vous pourrez aussi voir les photos du fleuve sacré, le Gange, des saddhus (saints hommes), la cérémonie de crémation, les gens dans leur quotidien. De courts textes décrivent ces photos en anglais et en français.

Claudette Gravel was born au Québec, en 1945. In 1991, she moved to Toronto to work as a radio-host and producer for the French CBC. Today Claudette has taken a new career path of traveling the world and giving a voice to those that are not heard. In her travels to India and Haiti Claudette has been able to fundraise for the children of these countries, in addition to volunteering her services. It is her passion in caring for others that has inspired her to create this book to provide the beautiful and challenging images she witnessed in her most recent trip to India.

Claudette Gravel est née au Québec en 1945. En 1991,
elle déménage à Toronto pour y travailler en tant qu'animatrice
et réalisatrice à la radio de Radio-Canada. Aujourd'hui, Claudette a choisi une nouvelle carrière, celle de voyager à travers le monde et de donner une voix à ceux et celles qui n'en ont pas. Ses photos de voyages en Inde et en Haïti lui ont permis d'amasser des fonds pour les enfants de ces pays.
