About the Book
This small book version contains photographs of trash, peeling posters, graffiti and reflections. My intent in making them, however, was to create formal studies rather than to document litter in the environment. As formal studies, the images are about line, shape, form, color and texture and how these visual elements are arranged within the picture space. Many of the photographs also explore how light falls on objects to articulate form. Finally, these photographs are about transformations: natural transformations caused by the action of wind, sun, rain and time on objects in the environment; and artificial transformations produced in the image editing process.
