Home is where the heart is, is a photographic documentry and exploration of alternative and self sufficient living environments in New Zealand.
In 2005 - 6, I left my home a humble caravan at the time to spend a year travelling and working in New Zealand. Whilst there I took part in the Wwoof ( willing workers on organic farms) scheme. The scheme allows people to learn organic growing and to pass on knowledge, in exchange for accomadtion and food.
Through this scheme and working for Greenpeace I met some very inspiring people, who were mainly living a self sufficient lifestyle. They seemed to be very creatve and resourceful people who had really put thier hearts into thier living environments.
I am currently teaching Photography part time at Exeter College Devon. Prior to teaching I completed a BA (Hons) in photography and then a P.G.C.E. After completing my teacher training I travelled to India, South East East Asia and then spent a year working and travelling in New Zealand. Most of my work to date has been produced using a traditional Hasselblad medium format camera
