Patrick Beckers (1965) is from Maastricht, The Netherlands. He has been an (amateur) photographer since 1987. He started his picture-career with motor-racing photos. These days, architecture photography is his specialty, although once or twice a year, he still turns up at motor-racing events.
Since September 1999, he maintains the Skyscraper Picture Collection website, where currently over 4,000 pictures of skyscrapers and cities in over 60 cities in 20 different countries on four different continents can be found. In April of 2007, he published the 540 pages Skyscraper Picture Collection skyscraper picture book, based on this website.
Many of his pictures have been used in books, magazines, leaflets, and on other websites. His website, his photography, his publishing and other journalistic work have always been done as a hobby, with no direct means of commercial profit. The little profit he makes he invests in the website, releasing books, traveling and plans for taking new pics.
