Click to preview With an eye on the Via de la Plata photo book

This large photobook describes a month walking on The Way of St James in April 2010 – from Seville to Salamanca.

My wife and I went by train from our home in Cheltenham to Seville, arriving on Maundy Thursday: having spent two days there, we set out to cover the first half of the Camino de Santiago known as the Via de la Plata - I with my camera.

The book consists of 90 pages, with 325 of my photographs and 11,000 words of commentary. It is all available to view free online - if your eyes are good enough!

Beautiful photos. I walked the VDLP about 2 months after you and had a great time. A heat wave struck at the end of May, but got in a lot of sunrises. Really interesting to see the changes in the wild flowers and crops through the progression of the season.

Thanks Dusty! There are some places where you can access the internet, but others where they look at you as if you were mad to ask! Very chastening.

Have a great pilgrimage!

What a great idea to make a book of your journey!. I am setting out in September to do part of the Camino Francés, but the Via de la Plata would be one of my next choices should I decide to do this again. Your photographs give a good picture of what the walk is like--exactly what I hope to be able to do on my blog. So good job! Looks like you had a terrific experience.
