Sam Sangster is a keen amateur photographer, who divides his time between work in Melbourne and relaxation in Rye. Sam has been capturing images on film for about 30 years, and has had a dalliance with capturing pixels for about a decade.
His current photographic work continues to be underpinned by architectural themes, with two ongoing projects dominating his current imagery. The first project is focussed on architectural motifs and is represented at the http://www.sams.am website. The second project has captured images of the beach boxes of the southern Mornington Peninsula, with an emphasis on hinges and other micro details, together with a study of the cluster of beach boxes on the Tyrone foreshore across the year. This project has captured and presented winter and autumn images typically only seen by other Rye locals, and has resulted in this photo book.
