About the Book
Jude Stuecker and Paul Dixon married on Saturday, October 20, 2007. On Friday they celebrated with family and friends in the late afternoon sun at a potluck picnic at Carrier Park beside the French Broad river not far from their home in Asheville. The next day they married on Sunderland lawn on the Warren Wilson College campus in Swannanoa, NC where Jude went to college. Following the wedding, guests ate and danced in nearby Bryson Gym. During this celebration anyone who was willing got their photographs taken wearing odd hats in front of an Indian backdrop. This photographic record of Jude's and Paul's wedding has three parts: the picnic at Carrier Park, the wedding ceremony on Sunderland lawn and photographs of people posing in Bryson Gym.
I grew up in India where my parents were Presbyterian agricultural missionaries and have taught at Warren Wilson College most of my life. My photographs are of north India and Sri Lanka where I have traveled many times; of Germany, which is my wife, Kathe's, home; and of the Swannanoa Valley and Asheville, North Carolina and of students and staff at Warren Wilson College, in Swannanoa just outside Asheville. Lately I have also been photographing weddings at Hidden River Events.
