My images are all about color, shape, light and shadow.Chiaroscuro!
Regardless of the genre of the painting, the overall composition is dependent on the color interaction. The passion with light, shade and shadow all coming together to give the painting life. My primary focus when painting. The placement of the horizon is paramount in making the viewer feel they are in the space. I love to place myself in the canvas and paint my way out of it.
My landscapes are places I have been and the still life I set up from life.
My abstracts are a delightful and complex way of releasing my creative energy. Finding many compositions within one painting. Often they feel good looking at them from all four sides. I paint my abstracts on a flat table . This way of working enables me to walk around and look at the painting from all sides. I am always finding something new and different from each position. Then, I settle in and and claim the one that draws me in.
