Waiting for Foreign
LA Writers on (and in) Guadalajara
by J. Michael Walker and Veronique de Turenne, Editors
In December 2009, four dozen top L.A. writers traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to represent Los Angeles at the second largest book fair in the world - la Feria Internacional del Libro, la FIL.
Here are their impressions and remembrances, illustrated with rich graphic interpretations of that remarkable city.
Artist and Author, J Michael Walker has exibited widely, participating in over 100 exhibitions in the United States and Mexico. His book All the Saints of the City of the Angels: Seeking the Soul of L.A. on Its Streets (Heyday 2008), won awards for art book of the year (U.S. News) and best regional non-fiction of the Pacific West(Independent Publishers). Waiting for Foreign is the first book he has co-edited (with Veronique de Turenne, whose profile appears here on blurb as veronique_) and designed.
