When mom was elected president of the Mother’s Club for St. Mary of Czestochowa school in Cicero IL, one of the biggest fundraising projects she undertook was the creation of a Mother’s Club Cookbook. I learned how to cook from scratch using many of the recipes from the cookbook. Now I have a reputation for being an excellent cook.

For this cookbook, I've selected some of my favorite recipes and others that bring back fond memories of people and the aromas that filled their kitchens. You'll even find a few of my own original recipes that were not in the original cookbook.

Mike is right. His mother, and many others, contributed to the making of the St. Mary's cookbook. They probably never imagined interest in their recipes would be revived more than 50 years later. I still like cooking the old fashioned way.

I bought multiple copies of Barb's book, specifically to give to family members. My mother also contributed her typing talents and treasured recipes to the original, as did Barb's mom. Barb's work with her book caused me to revisit those wonderful recipes, and look forward to some of the new. Our kitchens will be better for it!
