It's only a few hours drive from the flatland of California's Central Valley to the vast beauty and solitude of the high Sierra. Over the years Anna Daza-Hegre and her photographer husband, Kurt, have photographed the mountains that they consider part of their own backyard.
From the high roads of Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park, to the foothills of Sequoia National Park, the deep valley of Kings Canyon to the shores of Mono Lake and beyond, here is Anna's collection of photographs that capture only a very small part of what the Sierra Nevada offers.
