A two volume visual scrapbook of photographer Art Brewers time spent with Bunker Spreckels. From the years 1969-1977 they traveled around the world and left an impression everywhere they went.
Anthony Bernard Spreckels, known to his friends as Bunker, was Clark Gables stepson and the heir to the Spreckels Sugar Fortune. With money to burn and nothing to lose, Bunker lived everyday like it was his last.

Art Brewer, for those of you who don't know him, is considered to be the Godfather of surf photography. And, he can and does shoot a lot of other subjects. But, most importantly, he's cool. Really cool. These books are grand.

Both these books are marvellous. Before yesterday, I hadn't heard of either Bunker Spreckels or Art Brewer, more's the pity. These photographs remind me of the work of both Danny Lyon and Bruce Davidson. I've already spread the word as best I can. This kind of thing is just what Blurb is so perfect for IMHO.
Thanks.
